90 Mighty Max 3.0 ecm id #s 6159?
I bought a 90 Mitsu mighty max 3.0 V6 regular cab 4x4 5 speed.
has a couple cylinders miss firing all the time except wide open throttle (WOT)
It has 120-140 psi on all cylinders so no burnt valves and complete new distributor, wires and plugs. So that’s not an issue.
the miss seams to move around. Meaning you pull a plug wire and no changethen pull a few others and then back to that one and then it makes a change. I’ve done this over and over.
I was thinking injectors but found a post where a member had the exact issue and it was his ECM.
i ran Suzuki and geo trackers for years and they use the Mitsubishi ECM also and the early models 87-94 had a lot of the same issues I’m seeing listed for the mighty such as leaking copasotors.
After pulling mine I see it’s been replaced and looks new on the inside with no sign of corrosion so I get to searching and wonder if it’s the right ECM for my truck.
i can’t find a 6159 anywhere on the net.
but also all I’ve found have been for the 4 cyl.
so could someone with a little knolage on the ECMs please give me a hand.

I popped my '90 3.0L V6 5spd 4x4 ECU out and took some pics for you-including the repair job. I don't who did the repair though, it was done prior to my purchase. Hope it helps

Sorry it’s taken so long to get back.
my max is in the garage kinda out of sight out of mind thing.
but my ECM tags are gone and 6159 is scratched on it.
i do think I seen a bar code I’ll check it and see what’s there if anything.
this may sound off but I’m willing to send my ECM to any of you if you could
plug it in on your truck and see if that is indeed the problem.

Instead of you sending a possibly bad ECU to test and maybe damaging a good sensor, why don't I send you (with assurance I will receive it back in working condition) my ECU that is a known good ECU? If you are willing to pay shipping/insurance both ways and provide some type of reference I'll box it up and send it to you for testing. Seeing as how you dabbled with Suzukis (I have two samurais myself) I'm sure you have some rep on other boards.
