    There is a fusible link that is off of the positive terminal that goes into the harness - it looks like a piece of wire with connectors on it. If that fails, the truck goes dead. you can jump it out with a piece of wire until you can get a new one or replace it with a fuse holder with the correct fuse.

    you were close.
    The lead coming off of the battery splits to two wire (I think)
    the white wire's connector was crummy, looked a little burnt or tarnished.
    Cleaning it got the truck running again.
