How to disconnect parking brake cable from axle hub??? Trying to replace axle seal

I was trying to replace axle seal. I saw a toyota tutorial and figure Mitsubishi should be similar.... Take of drum, disconnect parking brake cable, brake hose and 4 nuts and the axle shaft should slide right out...

Ok... Looks like mitsubishi's parking brake cable is a little strange.... The cable end has a barb type of retainer that is very difficult to remove..... What should I do now??

You jam a pipe or deep socket over the barb end, then pull from the back.

If you are very skilled you can do it prong by prong with some pliers, but the pipe method is easiest. Last time I used a jack handle
