    Passed emissions again...

    Good for another year! Woooo

Side note, was taking the truck out the other day and noticed the fan belt squeaking, so I decided to tighten the belt up...

Went to move the alternator to tighten the belt and discovered that my alternator was only holding on by the tensioning bolt, the "pivot" bolt was completely missing... wtf.

Yeah that could ended very badly. And now the search for a new pivot bolt begins

Congrats on the smog. I found the pivot bolt half way out on my dakota after having something checked at a shop!? Of course they knew nothing.

mess with the truck so it fails days later so you bring it back? I wouldn't go back to that shop again.

    Congrats passing SMOG haruman

My older bother (rest in peace bro) took our 86 Power Ram 50 to the same shop in Penn Valley, CA for years ~ I was in that shop on one of my visits to the mainland, it was what seemed to be a very good place...When the truck arrived in Hawaii, we discovered one old spark plug wire under the carb & the vacuum line to the distributor was completely missing... That repair shop owner said the MCA Jet engine runs cleaner than a new fuel injected engine... Our truck passed Calif SMOG no problem ~ Hawaii has no SMOG requirements ~ the volcano is the problem over here Yikes..!

Your truck consummated in 79 (?) and born in 1980 ~ that's a long time ago ~ no telling when or who touched that pivot bolt last ~ I think you did good; congrats again...
