    New head issues

Old head is cracked, bought a new cific casting through engine machine services with new valve and hydraulic lifters. I'm reusing my cam and rockers. The main problem is when I went to assemble the new parts the lifter tip is not centered left to right in the intake valves. Exhaust is good but the intakes are off .030" or so.

Anyone had this experience? Just run it?

It's not out by much, maybe the rocker shims are a bit tired. I've seen it a couple of times with mechanical valvetrains, I don't think it is that critical.

I put it all together anyway. Only 2-3 out of 8 valves were perfectly centered. So far running good. Took a few minutes for the new lifters to pump up and quiet down. We'll see how the off centers do in the long run
