    CRankshaft bolt?

Just saw an ad for a shorter crank bolt that stated it was a replacement for the factory bolts that have a tendency to brake after 60000 miles. Bolt was 35 bucks. Is this BS just to sell a bolt?

Sure sounds like it. It's true that a lot of these bolts break easily, but I think 35 boners for a bolt is pretty greeeedy, and unnecessary.

There's gold in dem there gullies (gullibles). You sure it's not a set of bolts for that kind of coin? I got burnt today in a similar fashion - I paid $25 for 2 primer bulbs for my yard gear (well, $12.80 ea). For that price I could've bought 6 bags with 10 per bag and got change (works out to be 40 cents each - some b@stards got cheek dude...)

That bolt is for the V6 motors - not sure that will work on the 4g64. That site has lots of stuff for the Montero crowd, some of which will work on our trucks.

I was more concerned/interested in the frightening description about why I need this 35 dollar bolt over any other. I am in the process of replacing my timing belt sprocket and timing mark plate as both were worn out due to not being tightened down correctly.IMG_20180215_082153692.jpg You'll see the center of the plate is rounded out so I have no idea where the timing mark should be and the dark area inside the gear is filled with JB weld just in case I have to use it.
