    I checked them out and the 1988 isn't compatible.

    It should work, all MM/D50s have the same rear end.

    that lsd is good for all 8" rear axles in the trucks to 1994 at least

    Welded diff...get a funeral plan. Lethal in the wet, horrid doing tight turns, disastrous on gravel, rough on the drivetrain. Probably one of the worst ghetto mods you could do to any vehicle. Worst case scenario use the whole rear out of a Monty. If you think you can get away with it, find one from someone claiming it needs to be rebuilt. Found an interesting thread topic on another forum - http://www.mightyram50.net/vbulletin...ll=1#post58403 (link is in the post) This is a little like my engine flush method.
