I was told by the owner that I purchased it from that it has 56000 original miles and the original owner never changed oil and that the engine blew. the guy I purchased it from said it sat for years until he rebuilt the motor last year but the carb was bad. So I am the one changing it to a weber. I am having problems on where to splice my Carter into. Any help on that would be appreciated. There is so much emissions stuff on this motor I cant wait to get rid of.

Wherever you install the electric pump, it has to be close to the tank and shielded from possible damage or dirt/water exposure. I used a Carter in one of my cars and they are noisy due to them being a rotary-styled pump. The Carter pump relies on fuel to lubricate it so it has to be able to pick up fuel asap. Guys use a fuel cut switch that are found on Fords so, in the event of a roll over, the pump shuts off automatically (a good idea and hopefully you'll never need to use it). I prefer a switch in the cabin for a manual override. The manual switch added an extra degree of security as in the event of the car being taken, it would drain the carby soon after starting and the engine would die.

If you run into issues with the install I am in Pittsburgh and can help you out. Geronimo has had a Weber carb since 1983, so I have a little experience with them.

Right now 3 of them are sitting at a friend's house - don't have time for the ones I have, let alone more. A 4wd would be nice, but I have a 2000 tracker and a 2006 Silverado 4x4 for that.
