    91 4x4 transmission question.

    I have a 91 4x4 with a Mitsubishi 4cyl. My question is would a transmission out of a 86 interchange? Thanks for any information.

    Impossible all 91 4x4s are V6. If you are a V6 then you have a V5MT1 trans if it’s a 5 speed

    Not impossible, mine is/was too. But yes, the transmission out of an 86 would work fine so long as it is a wide block trans. Same for any non-V6 wide block transmission out of a Ram 50/MM.

    Ram 50 4x4s kept the 4 cylinder as the base engine after 1990. The Mighty Max 4x4 was V6 only as of 1990.
