1979 Plymouth Arrow Sport shifter compatibility

Does anyone know if this shifter is compatible with the transmission in my 1979 Plymouth Arrow Sport? It's a 5 speed from a 1989 Ram 50. Thanks

Short answer - yes (did a quick visual check from the pics you uploaded). But you need the plastic bush that clips onto the ball socket end or it'll slop around like a soup ladle. You will also need to make a paper gasket for it so it doesn't seep any gearbox oil.

should work....not sure if bushing is needed...Chrysler listing states bushing not used after april 84...but did they modify trans shifter "cup" or shifter ball?...if reasonable price grab it.

http://www.factorychryslerparts.com/.../MD701577.html BUSHING, Control Lever, BUSHING, Control Lever, Up To April 84. After April 84 (Not Used).

Not sure if that's relevant as these aren't Chrysler transmissions. Every Mitsubishi KM gearbox I've seen has used the nylon cup.

Just pulled a 4 spd shifter out of an 84 Ram 50 in a jy last week and it has the bushing on it, and its in good shape too.
