Hey All,
I havenet scoured the forums for this exact issue, but im putting it out there in hopes that someone can lend some advice...
I deduced that the oily wetness dripping down the wire-housing from the 'oil-pressure sensor' meant that the sensor was faulty in some way, and was leaking. Off to O'Reily's I go, to buy the $10 part. Pull the old, leaking one and start screwing in the new one. It goes in pretty tight, but I figure thats because of the sealing compound on the threads. I continue tightening, and then...PING!!
Ive just turned a $10 replacement into a $?? repair.
I cracked the housing around the $10 part. Now the thing is leaking oil ten times worse, and I end up driving up Hwy 101 with a plume of white smoke behind me and all kinds of pissed off drivers honking at me because im stinking up the place.
Now, Im looking for (what the manual calls) a oil-filter bracket.
Anyone done this? Anyone know what my chances are of finding this part?? Ive only seen one on ebay, but it says for a 1983-86
Im driving a 1988 2.0 (G63B)
Thanks for any thoughts, advice or guidance on this one...
