New owner of a 1979 Plymouth Arrow Sport Pickup

    Hello all,

I am new to this part of the MOPAR world as I have a small collection of classic MOPAR muscle cars and power wagons. However, came across a 1979 Plymouth Arrow Sport that I want to use as a daily commuter. It's definitely a project cosmetic wise, but allegedly runs and drives with no problem. Apparently, it just need a new mechanical fuel pump which I hear are hard to come by.

Hi and welcome to mightyram. The Arrow Sport is a rare find, I'm guessing it has the 4G52 2.0 engine? It should be the same fuel pump as the 4G54 but you could always delete the mechanical pump and use an electric pump (easy enough to set up and can be done on the cheap). If you have pics, post them up as we are a voyeuristic bunch lol. You're going to have a blast with the truck, they are a good all-rounder and if maintained properly will handle just about everything you throw at it.

Most US Arrow sport and D-50 sports have the 2.6 g54b motor, unless it was one of the very first 79 sports. Mid year 79 both motors were upsized - 2.0 for base, and 2.6 for sport.

    Thanks All,

Yes my Plymouth Arrow has the 2.6 G54B engine. I'm trying to load pictures on here, but they don't seem to want to upload for some reason.

A shame the seats are toast but at least you can get them recovered if you choose to. It otherwise looks straight and complete body wise. Nice
