Anybody have any issues with the reman. starters for theses trucks. I can't seem to keep a starter in the truck. Replaced two of them. I don't recall any shims for the first one I put in.

where are you getting the starters - AutoZone starters are very hit or miss - I have gone through several on Geronimo, and need to change it out again, as it has a dead spot.

AutoZone goes with low bidder on their starters, usually in Mexico with Chinese parts. That is from a manager at a local AutoZone. O'Reilly's may be the same.

I am pretty sure Autozone and O'Reilly's have the same parts, but will throw another name on the label so they don't have a conflict of interest on non brand items. I have seen many times the same exact parts, but different manufacture label names. So, your correct to assume Pennyman.
