Weird ass brake light problem/parking lights on.

so, I've not dove in the electrics yet with my recently purchased '79. I just got it driving today. I also noticed a strange thing. When I hit the brakes, all the parking lights come on at the same time. before I waste time tracking this down, ANY ideas? the blinkers work fine, they just flash like normal. but every light on the parking circuit light up with the brakes.

Check for a short in the taillight circuit - possibly the harness at the rear plug under the bed or at the back of the cab.

And check your fuse box. Maybe someone played amacha leg-trick-shun and bridged the circuit at the fuse box (god knows why but when it comes to wiring, every retard is an expert - and these trucks have really simple wiring circuits )

okay, It turned out someone stuck an 1156 bulb in the stoplight socket. very effective bridge of the circuit. a new 1157 cost me a buck and it's fixed.

Something simple. Instant wiring gremlin - just add wrong globe!
