Hello,

New on this site here's my story: Inherited an 83 Mitsubishi pickup with a 4d55 it seized up in 1997 and has been sitting since. A few days ago I began the engine tear down, while working on disassembling the timing belt the engine decided to rotate. Anyway found that it spun a rod bearing on the number 3 cylinder. Also found a small crack on the head. So looks like a complete rebuild is in order.

Here's my questions #1 Mike sounds like you are the goto guy for parts. What size pistons due you have that are available? It looks like the block will not need to be bored much to clean up the bores. I will know for sure when the machine shop looks at it.

Question #2 My head is cracked so a new one is planned. You guys recommend the ones from heads-r-us from ebay right? question is can I put a 5d56 head on this? Since this is an 83 I have different size injectors right? Are 4d56 injectors available if so how much? Or what options do I have?

Question #3 What about the rest of the bearings, mains rods, gasket set, rings?

Thank you guys so much for the info.
