    Another 4d56 head sawp question

    Hey,

I have an 86 ranger with the 4d55 turbo. Replacing Head, my spare was cracked too...

Found a used 4d56 out of a Delica, sounds like it's in fine condition.

Before going ahead I just want to confirm a few things and that it's gonna work.

    - I've read injectors out of the 83 are too big, but 86 should be fine? Could I just keep the used injectors in there?
    - I already have a head gasket kit and bolts, is it a different gasket and bolts for the 56?
    - And any other differences I need to know and address before diving in?

Kind of need to get rolling soon so hope to figure it out!

    Thanks!!

Just going to answer this question in case anyone is wondering.

    1. The injectors were the same
    2. Gasket and bolts - same
    3. The difference was that the fuel filter housing did not mount to the 56 like it did to the 55, missing some bolts, so had to be jimmy rigged and the oil dipstick zap strapped in place. Not a huge deal, its solid

Originally I thought the 56 was a cast iron head, but the mechanic I bought it off told me its aluminum.
