    1988 Dodge Power Ram 50

    how many head bolts in the 2.6?

    when i pulled my head there were only 10 but there are 12 holes....

    can anyone clear this up please?


    also ...can i reuse my head studs on my new head? because new ones are like $100

    you should have ten bolts for the head and two smaller bolts that go into the front cover. are they head bolts or head studs? if they are studs that screw into the block and have a nut that holds down the head then they are re-useable. if they are bolts they are torque to yield and can only be used once. you can get them here http://www.store.partsdinosaur.com/page329.html for about $44 shipped

    And the 2 small bolts that go in the front cover CAN be reused. They are for oil sealing only so don't crank on them. They will strip the aluminum case timing cover.

    when i pulled off my head i am missing the two front cover bolts.... where can i get relpacements?
