    mighty max 2.0 timiing issue ,saturdays project....

    ok so I posted a thread at beginning of week about my timing being off ,couldn't figure out what was going on.engine would start but timing still not right ,so I bought a timing light and compression tester.compression good but timing was 35 degrees out.
    so I tore it back down and this is what I found.

    y does this sprocket keep falling out of line??????

    O.k. they are timed to a 4-1 ratio. If you set your cam gear to the mark, the crank sprocket to TDC and the oil pump gear/lower balance shaft sprocket to line up in that notch, it takes 4 cycles before the marks re-align themselves (that whole 4 stroke thing). All good!

    The mark on the head is the hard one to find. It's just below the flat of the valve cover.
