    '89 Mighty Max

I want to make my '89 mighty max 2.6 liter fuel injected. Is there a 90's model that's a 2.6 liter that I can take the parts I need from? I know I need the ECU, Intake Manifolds, Crank Sensor, and wiring harness, but I'm not sure if I can find another 2.6 liter made in the 90's to take those parts from. Help?

You can either get the intake, TB and the rest of the parts from a conquest, but it is for a turbo motor and not the best. Or find the Magna intake from an aussie 2.6 that is multiport injection, but that needs intake mods to switch the air intake around, and the thermostat to match the rear wheel drive 2.6, and a Megasquirt to run it. The third option is to get a set of hayabusa throttle bodies and mod it to the truck intake and run it with a Megasquirt.

I generally want the fuel injection for better gas mileage, not having to worry about the temperature, and being able to go up steep hills without the possibility of it dying, so will the first option work well for that?

for option 2, would I need the thermostat to match any old 2.6 rear wheel drive or would it have to match mine? Because mine is a 4x4.

and for option 3, do you mean the hayabusa suzuki motorcycles?

I'm not worried about the amount of work. I'm in high school and have plenty of time to take the truck apart and mod it up, plus I live at a towing/transmission company so I definitely have the resources. There is a d-50 at the local junk yard that I plan on going to take a look at sometime this week but I want to be sure about the parts before I start taking things and then it not working. If I need to order parts, then that's no problem, I just really want to make a great "toy" out of this thing.

And what do you mean by conquest for option 1?

a dodge conquest - it is a turbo 2.6 motor, fuel injected. The magna intake needs modded for any 2.6 motor. The Hayabusa is the Suzuki bike, yes.

Probably be worth looking for a donor vehicle with the same motor and switching the injection over to your truck.

Couple after market conversion kits, if you have money to afford them.
