I thought it was gone he just pulled the ad and put up another one.

    What do I need to change if I replaced my 1985 g63b with a 1987 g54b?

The transmission would need to be changed - the 85 g63b is a narrow block, the 87 2.6 is a wide block. The oil pan and pickup would need to be a 4x4 oil pan - it is different than the 2wd.

    OK. I have a line on a 79 2wd with a 2.6 in it. Would that fit?

Yes it would, as long as it is a manual transmission. swap oil pan and pickup.
