    2.6 to 2.4 swap question

    Will a 1991 2.4l auto engine drop into a 1985 2.6l manual?

I did some reading in the threads and it appears that both motors are wideblock. Now the question is are the mounts the same? Sorry if these are dumb questions, I just bought my D50 a few months ago and the motor seized. Don't know much about these trucks, but I want to get it running again. My truck is a 85 4wd 5spd with the G54B. Any help is appreciated!

Your 2.6 might be a narrow block as there were some years that were and yours is right around the years that I believe Pennyman says were narrows. I would wait for him to reply.

The 2.6 manual is a wide block - 2.6 autos were narrow block to 87. 2.4 auto or manual blocks are all wide blocks.
