    4D56T performance modifications, My Build

    Good day,

has anyone in here done performance mods to their 4d56t motors?

I live in trinidad and tobago, in the caribbean. i own a '92 mitsubishi mighty max double cab 2wd. it originally came with an N/a 4d56 motor. which im sure most of you all know is seriously lacking in the power department.

i got fed up and purchased a turbo set up from a junkyard...
intake exhaust injector pump factory oil feed and water lines.

i was most pleased with the difference in power.. then i started fiddling with the injector pump... increase fuel and boost pressure with a manual boost controller... all this time the set up was non intercooler. egts started going up exceeding 1200F at 18psi of a stock td04 turbo...

Eventually i purchased a front mount intercooler and a universal piping kit from ebay. all was going well... my motor was crossing 500,000kms.. yes i do alot of driving. compression was down began getting alot of blow by. so i torn it apart, replaced the rod bearings piston rings and added a MLS head gasket. all OEM seals etc. and this is where i am now...

My factory turbo gave out recently and i am currently building a twin scroll manifold to put in an evo 6 TD05 16g turbo.

    any question/criticisms are welcome.

That looks very nice. Do you know how much power and torque it's making? Post some pictures of the rest of the truck. It's always fun to see what people in other parts of the world are doing.

    I am running a 91 d56, on a td04-15t billet at 35psi, at 30psi it dyno'd 117hp/223tq at the wheels. (through an automatic)
I am currently in the process of picking up a APS SR50 ballbearing turbo to install on it, to help with the hot air lol

Those numbers seem off.. But then again it's alot of boost for a td04... I never dynod mine but im sure it would be somewhere around 200hp and 400tq... I havent put on the evo turbo as yet.. Currently i have a td04 13t out of a bmw 3 series diesel..

Thats a lot of Nitro lol

I went with the APS SR50 that i ran for a while on 25-30psi, to much lag, i moved to a SR40, which is same cold side but smaller hotside.

30 PSI dyno'd 127rwhp and 217rwtq. Same dyno i dynod the 15t, same gearing, same tires, etc
(oh, this dyno is also 5 speed)
