4g54 fuel injection intake manifolds are available

I'm not really sure where to put this, but as an owner of both a Mighty Max and a Starion I figured someone might be interested in these.

Chad from starquestclub is making new intake manifolds for upgrading the 4g54 to fuel injection. He was one of, if not the, best at modifying the Mitsubishi Magna intake to fit on the Starions/Conquests. He now has a new design from scratch. So, those with the 4g54 wanting to go to fuel injection now have another option.

That is sweet! the price is not bad for such quality, and with several options to work with your setup. I have seen his older manifolds come up for sale, and they go fast. I have a magna intake for a conquest motor I am building, but that intake would be what I want if money was available.

and they "go fast"? I'm surprised that many folks still pumpin $$$$$ into a 2.6 intake
there was a pair of Gato on ebay not long ago, $650 & $350
In the good ol days unmoded magnas landed $150, or Glen from austarion moded $350. Yankee dollar was strong
Dynos have shown, there is little HP gained from intakes vs the dinky oe TBI, up to ~400+
Even then the main benefit is from multipoint injection + timing control.
Tbi or carb'd 2.6 intake hacked to mpi, keep up with the $$$$ intakes
Then when u factor in the numerous cracking G54 blocks.... have to be careful how you polish the turd
That's why most folks bail(by engine swapping), when the goal is high horsepower reliably
other powerplants offer a lot better bang for the buck

I get the fact that the 2.6 is a truck block with a turbo added, and wasn't designed from the ground up as a turbo motor. But it takes some ingenuity to get decent horsepower from the stock motor rather than totally rebuilding something to fit what you want for power. Head porting helps these motors greatly, and a tuned intake with the right cam makes this a credible motor, although not a cheap power adder.

TBI mods are good value. Bolt-ons has taken heavy starquests into the 12s. Spray it, gone 11.5-11.3. Solid performance
Cams are another topic. They all take the characteristic torque nosedive. Exceptions are extremely uncommon. Lacks R&D imo
Plenum volume probably more impotant to motors that actually breathe up top. That's why G54 dynos show no big gains from intakes
Oddly, the more powerful and fastest starquests had untouched heads, according to their owners

The only head that would give the upper end Hp would be the uber rare 16V head that HKS and the factory made many years ago. John Baker and Rod Hall had them back in the day when they raced the trucks in Baha and Mint off road racing, but could not run them on the course because they were in factory truck classes and the head was experimental

Now what does this remind you of?

Looks a lot like a 4G54 head gasket, doesn't it...
    It's for a BMW E30 M3.

One starquest meticulously measured his cam, went back and forth with schnieder 'til they ground the cam correctly
The same TBI setup gained a whopping 100hp with no other changes
Rollos' mpi, ballos engineering cam, could only idle with a distinct lope. Street starquest, stock 5spd et 11.0
EIP was into starquests way back
After trying "performance" cams, he went back to stock cam, 6300 rpm redline, mpi intake. The blue street car et 10.4s.
Red car ran 9s. Dyno'd 720+ hp and ripped in the upper rpms
The stock g54 head can breath up top, once the right cam(& springs), tells it to. No need for dohc

So with the stock head and tbi intake, and the right cam and springs the 2.6 will pull those numbers? Something is missing here - that hp range is modded Supra motor range power.

set a target, and there is a g54 proven recipee to follow
TBI proven good to ~400, but the further u push it, uneven fuel distribution comes to play. Many crack pistons as they found out
Mod a tbi or carb intake, with an injector at each runner, and that 'fixes' the fuel distribution somewhat
Magna hit 570hp & 550 ft-lbs street car. Not enough power?
If building a higher rpm setup, go for one of the short runner intakes. Proper cam/springs mandatory

Can clearly see the "cannon" intake on the red car 721hp dyno(still a solid 556 ft-lbs tq). He ran a schnieder cam
He moded the stock exhaust manifold to fit that big az turbo, but built a header after the dyno.
He said spoolup improved dramatically and car should hit ~850hp, with no other changes, same setup. The 54 can put it down
