My 87 had an oil leak. After replacing gaskets the leak is not as bad but there was still a small leak. So I go to investigate and it seems like there is a line running from the fuel pump all the way down to the bottom of the engine but not hooked to anything. It appears as if this line is leaking oil. Any thoughts on where it should be hooked up at or if it should be hooked up or plugged or what. Does have a Weber carb just in case that matters at all.
is the fuel pump still used or is it just plugging the hole? That line may be an old fuel line, and the oil is coming from a failed diaphragm in the pump. If it is not in use, pull the pump and make a block off plate. If it is in use, the pump is failing and you will need to replace it soon - fuel pumps pump oil out of a relief hole when they are failing.

Ithere not expensive and there not to hard to change. Just use silicone when replacing it. The gaskets seem to always cause problems.

If you are NOT using the OEM mechanical fuel pump then NO you do not need anything hooked up to it. You can either block of all the lines/spots on the fuel pump or remove the fuel pump completely and make a block off plate.
