    Control arm bushing issue

I'm in the middle of a front end overhaul. I had to Chang the lower control arm shafts because the bushings were damn near non existent. By the time I got to them they had grooves warn in pretty deep. The New parts are in but as I installed the little locking nuts on the back one stretched it's stud and now won't tighten. Has anyone tried to knock these studs out before? I just want to know what I'm getting in to.

Check to be sure the threads aren't bunged up at the bottom or the cross member hasn't been driven in where it anchors. Either way this should fix it. Try placing a couple heavy washers over the shaft before the nut. That should take up the slack if it has stretched or if the bottom threads are bunged. If you don't have another lock nut get a lock washer, does the same job and might help with the stretch issue.
