OK,

So the water pump started leaking on my 4G64 and I thought time to change belts while I was in there.

What I found was the belt for the balance shaft in half and the gear unattached but the bolt still in the shaft and a piece of round stock still on the shaft.
So I pulled the round stock off and I see the balance shaft has a machined flat spot that doesn't match up to anything I found.
The balance shaft does turn freely.
Am I missing something?
