Need Help : 1980 Plymouth Arrow 2.0 propeller Shaft Support Bearing ( cannot find )

    HI,

I was wondering if anyone has the proper part # for a propeller shaft support bearing.
I went through four local auto supply shops looking for the bearing. They all seem to have the bearing in stock. The problem is I need the wide bearing version. the shops here seem to list only the narrow bearing. They have tried different years but no luck for me.

    I am attaching some picsIMG_0577.JPG

The greasy bearing is the original unit, which I need a replacement.

Your assistance will be greatly appreciated Thank You

there are several listings on ebay for that part, but unless you can see it, I wouldn't buy it. Try rockauto.

I'm wondering if that old part isn't worn and that wear is making it seem larger. Can you measure the shaft and the hole size?
You can get a dealer to give you the exact part number to do more searches.

I bought this to replace mine on my 80 Arrow. Worked just fine:

there are 2 sizes - 2.0 is smaller than 2.6 - u joints are larger also, except for the 2.6 auto extended cab 2wd - my 88 had the smaller u joints for some reason.

Crossworth's pictures show that the broken down existing one is larger. ??? He or she might actually have the 2.6.

I just checked Rock Auto and they have the same list of parts for both 2.0 and 2.6 motors in the Arrow pickup.
    Edit
I suggest a dealer search using the VIN

If I remember correctly, I used a carrier bearing from a Talon I think..?
I just happened to have the parts sitting and thought why not?
Worked out great and didn't have vibration problems.

    Just sayin.
