    A few quick questions

Looking at swapping a few things on my truck and have some questions.

First, can I easily find a new top for my injection pump? I have the style without the adjustment screw for the zero boost fueling.

Second, I want the 120mph speedometer vs the 85mph that my 83 came with. How hard is it to swap it?

Third, would 2.5" or 3" exhaust be better for the 4d55? I have a shop that is going to mandrel bend everything. I won't be running a muffler, just a straight through resonator.

    Thanks
    Jeff

Smoke screw should be just bolt on, though I don't have it, I adjusted overall fuel screw then adjusted my idle to match.

Exhaust wise it's turbo and diesel, bigger better, 3" I'd say, you will never need bigger though. I am running 3 and I'm running 30psi.

The rule with turbos are: bigger exhaust=faster spool up. 3" is normally used on passenger vehicles.

Ok thanks for the input on exhaust. Anyone have any ideas on the speedometer cluster or the injection pump cover?

    Thanks

In regards to the speedo cluster you might be better trying to find the entire dash console. I currently have mine out of the truck and wouldn't say it's impossible to switch but your speed might not read correctly. It all depends on the gearing that is inside of the cluster. If you can find one for cheap and test it out you've got nothing to loose.

the gear in the tailshaft needs to be changed to match the cluster - there is printing on the speedo with the # of revs / mile. You may still be able to get the speedo gear from Mitsu if you can match it to a newer vehicle.

Also I talked to Mike Warme about parts and he told me to get a list together and now I can't seem to get a hold of him. Suggestions?

He's a pretty busy guy. Be patient with him. I know a lot of folks are after him for parts and he also has his own business. If you have the time to give him let him have it.

No one is entitled to his parts, time, or suggestions. He happens to know a lot about Mitsubishi trucks, has a good stash of parts, and is willing to part with them. Be respectful... and be grateful that he's at least willing. I'm sorry it didn't work out in your time frame. Good luck.

I've been patient and I understand they are his parts but when a man says he will do something he should do it. He knows enough and has enough to think he's entitled to be a "douche" then....

    Better?

Well I got my new valve cover direct from England yesterday. Something I've never seen in the US. Pictures to come soon.
