    85 50D EGR Removal

How does one remove the EGR for cleaning? I removed the bolts to slide it out but it is connected to something. Do I need to remove the valve cover?

Pull hard or smack with screwdriver handle. They get stuck.
To avoid this in the future cover the gasket with a light coating of anti-seize.

It releases from the gasket but appears to be stuck on something. Should it slide right out?

It has carbon holding the plunger in the manifold. Soak with panther piss (AKA WD40 or equivalent) for about 30 minutes. It's just stuck in there.
