    Transmission type

How can I figure out what transmission I have on my vehicle. I would like to rebuild it but I need to know exactly what it is before I order anything.

We have Auto service manuals that you may download on our forum that may answer your question. They are also good to have for doing the repairs or whatever.
You also haven't given info on if you have an automatic or a stick transmission.

I think that is the km145 transmission. That's the Mitsubishi code, I can't think of the Chrysler transmission code.

Actually no, the KM145 is the 4wd version, the 2wd is the KM132 I believe.

my 1992 mighty max says it has a r5m21 on the tag under the hood, its a 2.4l. that's what i have seen on all the 1990+ trucks that have a Manuel in them in the junk yards.

Is there anything else than r5m21 it would be known as. I typed it into ebay and bing and it didn't pull up anything relevant.

Can't find anything for r5m21. Can parts from km132 work in it?

I think I may have found a rebuild kit. Looks like the parts between the km132 and the r5m21 may be interchangeable because the kit also covers those.
