Hi and welcome to mightyram. Well, this is a first. Is the exhaust a sports system/has a hole in it somewhere? This is one possible cause. If you're running a sports filter on the carb they can cause popping when the engine is leaning out off throttle. Your engine tune could also be the culprit.
Truck is all original, only has 64000 kilometers on it, oh yeah it's a Canadian truck 39800 miles on it
usually that would be for a lean out condition on deceleration. Does the carb look like someone fiddled with the mixture screws?

Popping during decel is unburnt fuel being ignited in your exhuast. So its either running rich or your ignition timing is not set correctly.
