Ground wire
Okay, seems like everytime i get 1 problem solved, i get another. So this time i have a drain on my battery. I came out to a dead battery the other day. Replaced it and the next day dead again (today). As im running through all my wires, i noticed this ground that connects to the firewall...the truck runs fine without it and seems to run better actually but is it necessary? Righty-o. That ground lead has no place attached to the rocker cover. Using alloy as a ground point will cause a weird electrolysis thing - all ground leads need to be anchored to a ferrous material like the block, chassis, exhaust system etc.

Thought so. The person i bought this truck from shouldnt be anywhere near a vehicle, lol

most have a ground strap to the head on the last exhaust stud, and it goes to the little post on the firewall.

I just checked the photos from my teardown, and mine is exactly where DroppedMitsu says, the aft-most exhaust stud.
Looks like some dingus guessed where to put it back.
(I've done that.)
