making 87-96 ram 50 tail lights fit an 84 ram 50

What would it take to make the newer ram 50 tail lights fit my 84.

You'd need to do metal fabrication. Cutting the corners off a gen 2 bed and welding them into place. None of the body lines will match up between the 2 models. Is it just a cosmetic mod or are you having issues finding replacement tail light assemblies? You could have a shot at building your own tail light housings using off the shelf LED panels - I'm thinking about using LED inserts on mine but haven't decided yet...

If you need taillights for the 1st gen, contact Mike Warme on here - he has them, and sometimes has them listed on ebay under Vickys1975.

I've found a local junkyard that has them. Only they want a $100 each for them and 2nd gen tail lights are 20 bucks for the set on ebay. It was either adapting the newer tail lights or getting an led strip for the tail gate and hoping I don't get a ticket for my tail lights.

Keep searching on ebay for them. You'll find new assemblies and lenses from Thailand (lenses go as cheap as $15 for a pair brand new)
