Is there a easy way to convert the automatic choke?

On the 1980 D-50, without changing carbs to a Webber, is there an easy way to convert the stock carb on the 2.6 ltr to manual, with a cable and knob in the cab under the dash?

Short answer - nope. There's not enough extension off the choke butterfly shaft to attach anything and nowhere to run the linkage mechanism without it getting fouled by something.

Thanks. That sucks. My Holly rebuilt choke won't work out-of-the-box.
The choke doesn't unload and open after the engine warms up.
    Is it adjustable?
Old rebuild sat in the box for years Looks great and other than the choke, works like it should.

Looking at it more closely today the "Mitzi mechanic" for the Portland area jury rigged the install. One of the vacuum ports on the rebuilt now has a brass screw in it, and the hose disappeared that was connected to it. The manuals suck on describing where all the hoses are supposed to be connected. It seems to run okay except no choke function at all; just stays wide open all the time, which doesn't work very well with a aluminum manifold, etc. Guess I'm screwed with no options except to walk away from the expensive job and start all over myself with something like the Webber. Luck of the Irish again. For a truck which is supposed to be a reliable vehicle, this one has sure failed over and over. So far, major ... replace rearend gears after pinion stripped, third transmission, and oh, second engine block and third engine head. At least the original paint still looks fairly good. Gas gauge finally works again after two replacements.
And the grapper is this truck has mostly lived in a heated garage.

Decided that rebuilt carbs are probably endless problems so have to bite the bullet and install the good Weber .. the one with the white choke housing!
