    Hello from Bonners ferry idaho

Hello all. First off I would like to say thank-you for this forum. It has been a huge help. I am currently the proud owner of a 84 mighty max 4x4. It has the 2.6 engine. I also just bought a 84 d50 two wheel drive. Should be getting that today. I believe it has either the 2.0 or the 2.4. Not sure yet. It had an engine fire so the tags under the hood are gone. But for $200 I couldn't say no. Anyway thanks for having me and look forward to learning more about these great little trucks.

    Hi, Welcome to the forum.

Looks like your caught by the bug of owning one of these trucks. On the 84 d50, if I am correct the engines were a 2.6 or a 2.0, 2.4 diesel.

Upload some images if you get time. Always nice to see what you have.

I'm going to guess that the 84 is a 2.0 & that the engine fire occurred after a recent timing belt change done incorrectly.
