OK....I passed smog....as some of you know I had trouble passing California emissions, however I finally (unexpectedly) passed...here's what I did...I just ran the truck for about 6-8 weeks as normal, tinkered with it here and there but nothing extensive, I put Marvel mystery oil in it all the time and ran 87 octane...the truck ran fantastic...my exhaust system was a gen 2 style exhaust manifold and straight pipe through a 24" cherry bomb glass pack...just before I went in for the test I changed the oil again. I put the old catalytic converter and a new muffler on, even though my plugs were snow white all the time I still passed...barely, squeeked by.... but now I'm compliant...the second test run was at a "test only" station...I have a feeling now the original "test and repair" station may have somehow jacked the numbers hoping to get a repair out of the deal...I don't know that for sure but that is my thought, so a second opinion was worth the cost...thanks to all who helped with valuable advise.
