I had to reface my cam journal surfaces to as they were severely chewed (the bed side of the journal was not anywhere near as bad as the journal caps -

There all that way. The first gens don't have any oil to the cam journals. All it uses is splash and spray. The oil gets there from the timing chain.

Hutch. Get rid of them jet valves...........................................
