1980 d50 4g63t swap questions please?
Hey guys. I have recently picked up my 1980 dodge d50 sport. I have been doing a lot of reading on different forums, on performing the 4g63t swap to our trucks.
I found a great deal on a 99 gst eclipse for $200 with a bad transmission and its ugly as sin. So I would have engine and all stock wiring and ecm.
I believe I have the correct transmission in the truck already for this swap. My truck has the g54b engine so it is stamped.
Another is I have read, that mounting the 2nd gen 4g63t to the d50 is different than mounting the 1st generation 4g63t. But all I have to do is use 1988 Mitsubishi mighty max engine mouns.
Any input would be greatly appreciated

No your transmission will not work, you need the KM132 which came behind the 2.0l g63b. And an issue with the later 4g63 is that I think it is missing a bolt hole for the pass motor mount, double check that or it might have been the gen 3 4g63 from the evo that I am thinking of.

This may or may not help your search.

Also if your issue is just a motor mount issue, you can easily create them and weld them to frame in the position you need. Also, are you using an Auto or Manual transmission.

Early model G54B trucks (Autos for sure, pre-1986 and some Manuals) were actually Narrow Blocks, like the G63B.
My '84 was one of those trucks. She used to be a 2.6L Auto 4x4 truck. That G54B / MA904 combo was a factory Narrow Block setup

Evo 1-3 engines are suitable for RWD swaps but after that there aren't any engine mount provisions. Early VR4 Galant and same generation 4G63's are also suitable for a RWD configuration. Don't forget to look at Hyundai engines that were on the market at the same time.
