Thermostat housing cover bolts length
I need some help, does anyone know the length of the thermostat housing bolts. I'll be going to pull a part to source bolts from other Mitsubishi's in the yard I was in the process of changing my thermostat because my truck would never reach full temp. While taking the cover off the thermostat both bolt heads broke completely off. I should have known something was up, when my 1/4 to 1/8 adapter broke trying to remove the bolts. Thanks.

Yup, they are prone to rusting in place if they haven't been touched in centuries. Find a replacement metric M8 bolt with a length of about 20mm and you should be set. You might be looking for another inlet manifold though as drilling the broken bolts out of these is not a fun job.

Thanks, I kinda figured that. I'm going to try bolt extractors but I've never had great success with them.

Heat the thing up with a torch to get things to come apart. Then use anti seize when putting it back together. A light coat on the gaskit will keep it from sticking and make replacement super easy down the road.

Thanks for all the advice, after two days of working I finally got that two bad boys out. I went through a set of bolt extract and a stut extractor before finding another stud extractor that worked. This is by far the best bolt extractor I've every used, it's sold at O'reilly and Northern Tools. Along with a little heat they came right out. Now the truck reaches full temp.
