will the 2.0 engine bolt up to stock transmission that comes with the 2.4 engine?

    I have a 2wd 91 dodge ram 50 with the 2.4l engine and stock 5 speed transmission.

Will a 2.0 engine from a 88 mighty max bolt up to the stock transmission that came with the 2.4 l engine?

What about motor mounts, will a 2.0 engine bolt up to the stock motor mounts in a 91 dodge ram 50 ?

I'm going to say yes, it will bolt up as it's a 4G6X generation engine and should go in with no real issues. Any reason why you're going to a lower cc engine? I could start a discussion of how Mitsubishi determined the 2.0 litre engine is the most efficient design (bore x stroke) but I won't

No, unless it came from an Automatic trans. the 2.0l in that year is a narrow block, meaning the two lower bellhousing bolts are 12.25'' apart. the 2.4l is a wide block with the lower bellhousnig bolts being 13.25'' apart. engine mounts are the same so no problem there. measure the 2.0l bellhousing bolts to find out. also check this site out, it has helpful info on this topic. http://projectzerog.com/

He didn't do the swap because it wont work, I mean bolting his 2.4 tranny to the 2.0l motor.
