Just curious on swapping a 2.6 from a 1988 Ram50 into a 1980 D50 that has a blown 2.6.
Are there any differences that would make this difficult?

Be sure the new motor has the same tranny as the old one - manual to manual, auto to auto. Block bolt patterns at the tranny are different between auto and manual in 1980. Intakes are also different, oil pan is different between 2wd and 4wd, everything else should be the same. Use a weber instead of stock 1988 carb, as it is computer controlled and a pain to work with.
