    2.0 g63b timing belt question

hi all.. never really introduced myself when i signed up..my name is stephen i live in sharon mass...town next to foxboro (patriots). recently picked up this 1988 mm.. 91000 miles.. i have been basicly following the list of things on the introduction page.. am now at the timing belt.. i plan on only doing the belts and tensioner pulleys... as the gears/timing cogs look good..my question is the chiltons book says remove plug to lock left balance shaft in place?? do i need to do this if i am not replacing gears...if so where is this plug??

Yes you still need to remove the plug and make sure the balance shaft is not 180 degrees out of time.
