    '91 MightyMax 6g72 4x4 v6 engine swap, HELP!!

Aloha, my mitsubishi mighty max needs an engine. it has a piston detached from piston rod. (loud Clank) ive been looking for a replacement engine of the same model but its proven hard to find. what are my option for putting another engine in it? i dont know crap about engines, a buddy of mine will help with install. but i need to know what engine will fit in existing mount and transmission. any input would be appreciated.

I think the diesel 4M40 and 4M41s will bolt in to the V6 mounts.

By far the most sure fire, fewest headaches thing to do is rebuild your engine.

Similar vintage Monteros have the same engine. Should be direct bolt up. 6g74 and 6g75 should work, but I'm still learning myself.

These damn 4x4 V6 MMs are just confusing as hell, as I've come to find out. Seems nobody seems to acknowledge their existence.
