yes - the pitman arm bearing goes bad and causes slop in the shaft. No easy way to repair it; if you have a 2wd a starquest steering box will work in place of the truck one.

hey, check the pitman arm first.
Are there 2 seals on the output shaft that the pitman arm connects to? Mine is leaking.
