    1980 d50 questions / parts needed

I was lucky enough to have inherited my grandfathers 1980 D50...

I drove it from Oregon to San Diego and wished that my grampa would have sprung for the A/C!

I am looking for the following replacement parts:

    Headliner
    Kick-panels
Panel behind the seats (not sure of what it's called)
    Dome light cover
    And of course... a dash

A couple questions for all the mightyram50 owners:
Are all parts from 1st gen Dodge/Mitsubishi interchangeable?
Are there any other seats that will fit in my truck with minimal modification?

    Thank you in advance!

Go to an upholster shop for a headliner and kickpanels, and cover behind seat, because you'll never find those. Mitsubishi and D50 are the same truck. The exception is a D50 tec hnically was built 79-82 and Ram 50/Mitsubishi was 83-86. Bumpers are diffrent for the front from the 79-82 to the 83-86. Anthough if switching entire unit with brackets and all they fit. Grills are interchangable as long as you pay attention to headlights. Ram50 had 4 lights.

Dash...... See the thread we have here on this subject.

Dome light cover....... Either find it used from the trunk lamp of an early Mitsubishi galant or sigma as the had the same lens and aRE always beautiful as they never seen UV light. Or I can sell you genuine new Lens for $20 shipped.

Still give you huge props on the trunk light lens. Of all the oddities...

Hate to see that first gen leave Oregon, but she is a pretty one!

I had my originals and used them to make new ones from heavy gauge posterboard. My behind the seat panel is lauan plywood padded and upolstered in velour. My headliner is also upolstered posterboard cut slightly oversized and slid into the gap at the top of the posts. I also have the plastic trim from an 85 Ram 50 royal interior that snaps over the metal in the cab to give more area to trim out the headliner. BTW the whole interior of the cab is dynamated and foam/foil insulated for heat and sound. Look at my gallery pics to see what it looks like.

Do you know what year galant/sigma? I have a friend with an old galant, I'll ask for a little donation from him!

    Good news/Bad news...

I found an old Sigma, got the lens! Thanks Mike!

I found a pretty good dash in an 83 MM... I hesitated on getting it because it doesn't have the hole for the wiper switch... Do you know if I will be able to drill a hole for the wiper switch in the MM dash?

Thanks again for all your help!

It isn't hard to do if you cut the vinyl first, then drill the hole - I did it on mine, but then that was 20 years ago and the dash was much newer then. Be sure you unbolt the nut under the dash by the steering column or you will ruin the dashpad by tearing it.
