well the whole drift truck didn't go as well as I planed, I found a guy that would weld my diff for me, all I had to do was remove it and reinstall it. so we did, it took about 7 hours to disassemble, weld, and reassemble. it worked! I drove on it for a week and a half no issue. I went to the autocross event that weekend to see how it would do, not too well. the 55hp engine would only give me enough power to do a 180 every time I went to drift. I would have needed just a little more power to get me to hold a solid drift... well after that event I drove it another week, that weekend I went to drive from lima ohio back home to Detroit Michigan. I hit Toledo traffic and went to hit the brakes and I had barely any at all. so I thought id pull off at the next exit just another 3 miles down the road, and when I went to change from the far left lane to the far right I felt the whole truck drop and I saw the rear driver wheel rolling in the side mirror. I made it to the shoulder and got out thinking my lug nuts came loose but what I saw was the whole axle walked itself out of the housing. what happened was instead of buying new wheel bearings I just slipped the axles back in and didn't check the lock nuts on the axle shafts, causing the wheel bearings to fail. the rim (with the axle still bolted to it) ramped the median and it a suburban and caused them to slam into the wall, everyone (father, 2yr old son, and 2 month pregnant mother) was okay and got out before it burnt to the ground. I am very lucky I didn't kill someone and I suggest sharing this story hoping other people can learn from my mistake. the money it cost me after the repair and ticket it would have been cheaper to rebuild the rear axle with a nice LSD. even if you do crazy mods to your rides always make sure you take your time and go over everything.
"LONG STORY SHORT" welded the axle, didn't pay attention on reassembly, spend the money do it right, almost cost me my life, take my advice.13632877_10207985052762393_11323977_o.jpg13616192_10207985056122477_2069156764_o.jpg13588832_10207985056162478_1988224261_o.jpg13633415_10207985056842495_213582314_o.jpg13616294_10207985056322482_32535530_o.jpg13646836_10207985056602489_564488923_o.jpg13639490_10207985057242505_2035165106_o.jpg13588916_10207985056562488_366692699_o.jpg13589241_10207985057522512_551526106_o.jpg13589005_10207985057602514_701904365_o.jpg13639725_10207985057642515_1290888553_o.jpg13621829_10207985057762518_2137354006_o.jpg13621608_10207985091923372_523692262_o.jpg13616352_10207985097643515_1636704618_o.jpg13621511_10207985093123402_1127617095_o.jpg13633490_10207985093363408_1957303706_o.jpg13639572_10207985098043525_1454346841_o.jpg13646802_10207985097603514_407677011_o.jpg13588977_10207985092043375_85888812_o.jpg13588754_10207985092883396_2144802129_o.jpg13621560_10207985092283381_789923079_o.jpg13579788_10207985092723392_1656342817_o.jpg

so after the accident I had to repair the truck all myself. I found an axle shaft on ebay for $150 or a whole rear axle assembly for $200 from a junk yard on ebay. I bought the whole rear diff and got it installed, got new u bolts, and for the price of oem steelie I could get 2 aftermarket rims, so I started looking around, couldn't find anything that would bolt up fast and easy until I went on amazon and looked up trailer rims. and I found these "Ion Alloy 12 Silver Wheel with Machined Lip (15x6"/6x139.7mm)" that's what they are called on amazon. I got the truck on the road after 2 months, and for trailer rims, they don't look too bad at all.

once I drove it around for awhile I trusted it to take it home to Detroit one weekend. the problem I have with these rims is that they get dirty so fast... so I plastidipped them to hide the dirt. they look pretty cool now. oh and I got my stickers made for him, Daffy the D50 and yes I still autocross him.

just after I fixed it from the accident I took it to Milan drag way to see what kind of numbers it would run. well it was pretty bad, its on youtube but my numbers were 21secs @ 62mph out of 3-4 runs, that was my best. it was my first time drag racing for on a track. but yeah now my goal is to cut it that time in half. that's my buddys nova

So last August I made an immature decision and bought another car, but damn I'm glad i did. My friend from high school posted his brother was selling his 1991 Eagle Talon TSI FWD 5 speed manuel for $1000. i bought it off him for $800. its has a 4g63t (6bolt), g13 turbo off an evo, 65lbs injectors, tune, 3.5" intercooler, 2.5" aluminum CSX racing radiator, apexi turbo timer, AEM Air/Fuel guage and boost guage. (Chatch, the engine just started to knock so he turned it off immediately. and he had it ready to be pulled, top half of the engine was off, the electrical was undone, all it needed was 2 motor mounts and the bellhousing bolts needed to be removed. i took it down to ohio, pulled the engine, harness, and ecm, intercooler, radiator, along with all the other goodies i could use in the truck. put the car up for sale and sold it within a month for $450. pulled the engine apart and found one of the pistion oil squirters was snapped off and laying in the bottom of the oil pan. and all the bearings were all scuffed up, but the connecting rods and crankshaft and block jornals were all in great shape, with a very light polish it will be like it never happened.11806946_10205703825093127_1299103027_o.jpg11831521_10205703801852546_2008345024_o.jpg11806592_10205703799892497_188896129_o.jpg11806960_10205703800412510_611525618_o.jpg11840363_10205703801092527_1689998072_o.jpg11831264_10205708599252478_2137942123_o.jpg11831550_10205708596612412_2105975218_o.jpg11822138_10205708600212502_1926828722_o.jpg11831502_10205718355856387_35418659_o.jpg11822240_10205725171906784_548744192_o.jpg11831855_10205725044623602_1075622252_o.jpg11836509_10205725044463598_1569195376_o.jpg11831367_10205736894879851_1471116308_o.jpg11840240_10205718349256222_909358251_o.jpg13646968_10207985071522862_641172909_o.jpg

i also bought some brand new oem taillights, because the clear ones i bought 2 years ago are yellow and cracked.... so i figured keep it stock and clean. oh also a while back, i got my windows tinted 5% rear and brow, and 15% on the sides.13633330_10207990760945094_1119229684_o.jpg13616220_10207990760465082_1155584843_o.jpg13621874_10207990760265077_634861885_o.jpg

So I had the truck looking very good just shortly after I started working at gm. I went to a car show in Ocean City Maryland and the truck was breaking necks and getting lots of love.

Oh jeez, another victim of the dreaded retarded monkey syndrome. I hadn't checked your thread before and as I was about to put up a post, your thread took a nasty turn. How bad was the damage and are/will you be able to fix it? Your truck looks (well, looked...) awesome. The JDM mirrors are a nice touch and I've always wondered how Gen1-2 trucks would look with fender flares on them.

I was so heartbroken over it, my baby, my pride and joy was all messed up. But everything happens for a reason. 3 days before the accident, I found a guy on craigslist who was selling a 1991 dodge ram 50 and it was in perfect condition. it was a 2.4L 5speed but the cylinder 3 piston had a hole in it. i was planning on using it as a parts truck cause the bed was in such good condition. i ended up pulling the carb 2.0L and trans from my blue truck and put it in my red truck.

Ain't it funny how these things happen. You make a random decision to do something and it pays dividends. Never know, the 2.4 engine might become a side project - if not, you can sell off what you won't be using to help fund Daffy V2.0

luckily most of my parts i was able to transfer of pretty fast, the truck was down for about 3 weeks. i ended up putting a 15gal fuel cell in the red truck and gave it some character and helped the carb breath with a dart inspired hood scoop. (03 Subaru STI hood scoop) he was back and breaking necks in a whole new way!!!

Your 'Bass boost in a bottle' is freaking cool, haven't seen one in ages! I use a really old SAS 10" sub tube and it still has the ability to give me chest pains lol. No mechanical mods like a carb/headers yet? The 2.0 runs so much better without the pollution garbage and not being strangled by the intake/exhaust. An LSD would be a good addition to your truck when you autocross it. Maybe Daffy will get some upgrades this time around?

So about 4 days after my accident in my blue truck my buddies 99 Dakota was parked on his street when a distracted driver ran into the back of it and bent the frame on it. his truck was totaled so we actually found him a new one (the blue one) and transferred some parts over from the other truck. and well my blue ram i still have, the frame isn't bent or anything so i started thinking about some ideas on what i want to do to it. my buddy, (the one with the Dakota) sold me the 318 out of his totaled one for 100 bucks and i think by now you are probably thinking where im going with this but im sure the pictures can explain

I also went back to Ocean city for the same car show again and the truck was a huge hit! i made so many new friends and got to meet some of my instagram followers. had a blast and cant wait to go back this year!!!

Just before the accident i installed a weber on it an installed an electric fan. as for exhaust i had a full 2.5 straight pipe to an apexi fartcan.

unfortunately since i graduated college i haven't been to autocross. once get the turbo engine in the red baron (red truck) i plan on putting a ford 8.8 in it and i only put a weber on it cause i got it for super cheap. i don't want to spend too much money on the g63b if im going to be putting the 4g63t in it.
