    Weber carb and kickdown issues

    So I have an 88 MM that originally had 2.0. it now has a 2.6 with a DGAV 32/36. The kickdown cable was never hooked up for the auto trans. Ive heard there is a linkage available, however, in talking with redline weber they assure me there is no such thing. As I look at it I am not sure how i can fab up a linkage to work. The kickdown cable seems long enough to belong on the firewall side of the carb, yet throttle is on the radiator side. Hopefully yall could point me in the right direction here.

    Basically, I was in the same boat as you because there really is not some kind of adapter for an automatic transmission. You have to take the lever from the old carb and put it on the new one; or you can just get the link cut off the old one and fabricate it on the new one like I hired a local guy to do:

    I have the 32/36 DFEV, and now on their site it says:

    NOTE: On vehicles with Automatic Transmission you must use (transfer) the kickdown lever or linkage from the original carburetor on to the Weber Carburetor

    Hopefully you can find someone in your area who can do the same if you cannot get the entire part off and put it on the new one. Good luck!

    Thanks. This was driving me nuts. I'm just going to safety wire the kickdown, haha. I wonder what's special about the AT version then?

    There is an additional linkage off the end of a throttle shaft that the factory kickdown cable connects to. It's then set up identically to the OEM layout. If you look up the K614 Weber kit this is the A/T optioned carb install.
