    (Starion g54b(turbo) oil pump VERSUS (mightymax g54b(Naturally aspirated) oil pump

    Hello everyone, does anybody know if there is any difference between the turbo starion oil pump and the mighty max oil pump? Thanks!

    Yes they are totally different - 2 different pumps and 2 different pickups. That and the starquest pump is 2 to 3 times the price of the regular 2.6 pump - they are not interchangeable.

    I see the difference now that I look closer at the pics, they look identical at a glance. I'm assuming the starion pump has a higher volume rating. Thanks for the reply.

    Your 87 truck should already have a higher volume pump in place, I am using one on my 86 which I replaced out for the 87 pump.

    starion is a HV pump, NA pump doesnt pump as much, they use a completely different gasket, and oil pickup goes into the pump instead of the block
