    87 ram 50 2.0l to 406 chevy small block swap

    hey i started a build thread in performance but i figured id move it here so i have a 87 ram 50 2wd 2.0l that im going to put a 406 chevy small block in my grandpa bought the truck brand new in 87 an gave to me when i was 13 it was my daily driver for years my cusin painted it for me when i was 16 which is the paint job thats still on it my grandpa that gave me the truck passed away back in july so its time to work on it and get it going again id appreciate any advice and input on what yall think about my truck

    If anyone wants the 2.0 and manual trans ill be willing. To sell them the motor is bored .030 over and has 70k miles on it since rebuilt

    Looks like a non-AC truck which should make radiator placement a bit easier.

    What are you going to be running as a transmission?

    I was also wondering what rear ends would fit under my 87 d50 that would handle the 406

    Stock will work for a stock or mild v8. A Isuzu rodeo or Montero rear would take more power and add disk brakes in the rear and possibly LSD, if you want to stay 6 bolt wheels. For 5 bolt wheels, A-body Mopar, Toyota 2wd, or Explorer, though that would require narrowing.

    Thanks and i plan on having about 500 hp out of the motor i plan on four linking the rearend as wellright now im looking to see what i can find

    That's pretty cheap. you can drop in the rebuilt engine and trans and sell for a profit. Or keep.

    Well picked me up a ford 9 inch rearend housing so close to taking it to the race shop to start moc up of the sbc and trans

    Well I got the rest of the wiring for under the hood out and also got the bed, fuel tank, fuel brake and evap lines removed this weekend 20170212_155752.jpg20170212_155809.jpg
