4x2 into a 4x4 Has it been done using stock OEM equipment?

I have been on the hunt for a MacroCab 4x4 and have not had any luck. Soooo, what are your thoughts on turning a perfectly good 2wd into a perfectly good 4wd on the cheap?

I'm just going to leave this here for our enjoymenttavor.jpg

lot of work - need to change all the crossmembers, rear spring shackles and oil pan, drive shafts - unless you have a complete donor truck with a bad frame, I don't see why you would want to do this - a SAS in front would be easier, but lifts the truck higher. Or use straight axles from a Jeep with mitsu tranfer case.
